Weekly Question!
We are now running a new series which is an updated version of our previous series: An Introduction To Special Education Law. Based upon a question from a reader, what advice would you give a law student preparing for a career in special education law?

Make sure you get practicum in the classroom, at actual IEP meetings, and meeting with parents of children with special needs. Also -- connect with the states Parent Training and Information Center.

Most law students do not have experience with school administration. A practicum with a special education administrator would provide for a broader perspective when in practice.
