I believe that mental health will be a huge issue in special education law. More and more, I'm seeing schools becoming responsible for issues like treating anxiety, depression, executive functioning skills, school avoidance, and even more serious issues such as reactive attachment, when they may not be equipped. This leads to issues between the school and parents and qualifying students for special education services to address these issues when special education can really only do so much if parents will not seek outside services as well.
